1. Welcome

After a summer break we supply you a new technical note which discusses a problem of event driven fsm. We were confronted with that topic in a telecommunication project (for the Diameter protocol) and this motivated us to present it in the technical note.

2. The technical note "Event driven fsm"

Under the term "an event driven state machine" we understand a state machine where an input signal is used to trigger the state machine (to make an action and/or a transition) and thereafter it is forgotten (considered as consumed). This type of state machine which we call also a parser type sometimes makes sense for instance in pure parsers or in certain telecommunication applications.

The technical note shows how to handle signals that must be considered as pure events in StateWORKS Studio.
