There are several examples provided with StateWORKS Studio installation.
Refer to the user manual and the quick start guide for further instructions.

Release Notes

The following changes have been made in the latest release of StateWORKS Studio in 2026:

• For Windows the software comes packed in a completely new and fast installer.
• Removed dependency on Windows registry; no installation/registration step required anymore;
  Only application settings still rely on registry data (e.g., default tools, recent projects)
• Application is now portable and can run on Linux and macOS via Wine
  Optional: import the included .reg file to restore default settings
• Updated StateWORKS Editor with a slightly more modern look
• Various small fixes and improvements such as better XML file import handling

Installation on Linux and macOS

It is required to have Wine ↗ installed.

1. Download and extract the portable ZIP archive
2. Copy the full content of the extracted folder to ~/.wine/drive_c/StateWORKS
3. Optional: Import the registry file for default settings

   wine regedit 'C:\StateWORKS\stateworks-settings.reg'

4. Run the application

   wine "C:\\StateWORKS\\SWStudio.exe"

   If the registry file was imported, the other Tools can be run directly from the menu bar.

Other Versions

Upon request, we can supply alternative versions. For example, we can provide one that includes the thinStates compiler and an older one that supports the K8055 board (this is due to the fact that we have not yet updated the IO-Handler for the successor board).
